The second in the bestselling Montgomery Ink series. He's kept away from her for years, but now his best friend's little sister is stepping up the game.
Decker Kendrick knows it’s wrong to have feelings for his best friend’s little sister, but that doesn’t stop his thoughts from going down that path. No matter how hard he’s tried to stay away from Miranda, once she gets her sights on him, there’s no backing down.
Miranda Montgomery might be the youngest of the Montgomery clan, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what she wants. Namely—Decker. She’s loved him for as long as she can remember and won’t walk away until she gives it her all.
But once they give in, not all is at it seems. Decker’s father’s out of jail and someone from Miranda’s past isn’t happy with the new relationship. Even as they start to move on and overcome their pain, they’ll find that their inner obstacles are the ones they’ll have to face first.

There was such potential in this book, but it was bogged down by unnecessary scenes, way too much narrative and a touch of "saga" that really slowed down the pacing. Like a train wreck.Ms. Ryan had the makings of a good book. But there was too much TELLING and not enough SHOWING. The book reads like a diary, journaling events that occurred.
Secondly, the writing was too passive. I skimmed through pages just to get it read. There was no real reason given for Decker's belief that he was not worthy of Miranda, it was all just in his head. Too much contrived actions that were way out of line, i.e.. Griffin's reaction to Decker and Miranda. Especially what he said to Decker. Unconscionable.
Bringing in so many of the tertiary characters during Decker and Miranda's story was an attempt to turn this into a saga and it fell flat. I wasn't interested in the rest of the family except as to how they pertained to the two main protagonists.
And finally, there was no emotion. I read about how Decker felt, and how Miranda felt. But only once did I read about one of them looking into the eyes of the other to communicate their feelings. When a man is talking to a woman he's interested in, he watches her face, her eyes, and vice versa. Didn't happen here.
I also think Decker should turn in his man card. It might just be because as an older woman I was really bothered by his lack of backbone, lack of Alpha-Ness, lack of confidence. Anyway, it's my opinion.
I'm not going to read the rest of the series because there was nothing that engaged me, nothing that made me die to know what will happen next.
She's got potential, or maybe, since she's so well-published, it was just this book.

Tempting Boundaries Montgomery Ink Book 2 edition by Carrie Ann Ryan Romance eBooks Reviews
I love this family and all the characters! The storyline is always great, what I don't love is how fast the endings are wrapped up. You get invested in as h couples story, the trials and drama along with some serious sexy times and the bam within one chapter or more everything is wrapped up solved and hea! But you don't get the hea because it's over!! No epilogue just unicorns and rainbows and THE END!
That's why this is 3.5 stars and not 4, investing in characters and the story we need as much happy times as drama! Equal parts please! I'll still keeping reading even though it frustrated me and I need more Montgomery family times regardless!
It's an easy read with a HEA. Not an original storyline, but that's okay. If you've read one, best friend/little sister book, you've read them all. It's always about the hero never being good enough, coming from a broken home or an abusive home and likes to have "kinky" sex. I don't know how some light spanking during sex always turns into "I'm not good enough for her and I'm going to turn into my abusive father" Or how the hero always has this sudden and major revelation and suddenly realizes he "made a terrible mistake, if only I realized it sooner"... and then the heroine takes him back and says that "she never and will never stop loving him, just as he is"...like I said, if you've read one, you've read them all and learn to just skim the pages.
I thought I would try the second book after the first. Thinking it would get better. I just can't get into it. Randomly after a chapter it changes to be the thoughts and story of ANOTHER SIBBLING- and what's happening with them for one chapter and it goes right back to the main story line. Did this for about two family members. Seems out of place and just weird
I enjoyed Miranda and Decker's story. Boy from the other side of the tracks taken in by a family and youngest daughter falling in love with said boy. One day she decides to bite the bullet and show her interest after a bit they decide to give in to their attraction and give their relationship a go.
My problem lies in the fact that 95% of the book was spent with her saying she loves him but holding back because of fear of rejection and on Decker's part fear that he isn't good enough. Then comes this accident and all of a sudden he leaves her 'out of love' and because he's 'not good enough' and then they kiss and make up the end, literally. The whole story just kinda snowballs in the last 20 pages of the book.
I guess I'm trying to say it was rushed. I do like however that in the telling of the story of one set of characters another set starts and is also being continued that way you have to read all the books to keep up with all the characters.
I am hooked!!!! I had only downloaded book 1 on my kindle, and after finishing it I purchased the whole collection. I almost feel like part of the Montgomery family while reading these. I am so invested, I can not stop until I have read them all!! I LOVED Decker and Miranda's story!! It will make you laugh, cry and wish for a relationship like they have!! I am so glad I could these books!!! I am currently on book 3 and can' wait to read all 8 of them!! Seriously... do not just purchase one.. go ahead and buy the whole collection.. you will be dying to find out what happens next. I am so glad Carrie Ann makes the books about the whole family. So when you are done with Book 1 (Sierra and Austin) and you move on to Book 2 (Decker and Miranda) you still get to read about what is still happening with Austin and Sierra and also get a hint of which couple may be in the next book!!!
I loved the way they loved each other. Yum! The love story was good. The extra characters were amazing. What an awesome family!! The only thing (and its big to me) that drove me crazy a$$ bonkers was Decker whining all throughout the book, about how he wasn't good enough for her. On and on. After the first zillion times I think we all got it. He was still hoter than hot in the bedroom, whew, but out of it, not so much. Because of that, it was a one time read for me. You read it and decide for yourself. Everys taste is different. Isn't that wonderful?? Can you imagine how boring it would be if we were all a like!!?? Lol
